Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight Drawn In Disney’s 2D Animation Style Art Makes Me Want Marvel To Make Season 2 Even More

Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight Drawn In Disney’s 2D Animation Style Art Makes Me Want Marvel To Make Season 2 Even More

Brand-new Marvel art featuring Moon Knight in classic Disney 2-D style has made me wish there was already a season 2 of the hero’s show. Starring Oscar Isaac, Moon Knight season 1 premiered on Disney+ on March 30, 2022. The first season only ran for 6 episodes, which was mostly par for the course for Marvel TV shows at that point in the MCU’s history. Though there has been no official confirmation that Moon Knight season 2 will happen, Marvel changing their approach to how they produce shows makes me hopeful that it will eventually become reality.

Moon Knight quickly became a fan favorite among Marvel Studios’ TV projects, and Oscar Isaac’s performances in the series received high praise. While fans anxiously await Moon Knight’s return to the MCU timeline, X user @MarkBrooksArt recently posted some incredible fan art of the MCU’s Moon Knight, reimagining Oscar Isaac’s character in the classic Disney 2-D animation style.

What The Disney-fied Moon Knight Art Means

Like all great fan art, this Moon Knight piece sticks out for doing something unique, interpreting how the live-action character would look if the MCU show had been released as part of Disney’s hand-drawn animation days. The 90s was largely considered the height of Disney Animation’s power, with some of the most iconic animated movies and character designs of all time.

Moon Knight Season 2 And Oscar Isaac’s MCU Future Addressed By Marvel Show Director

As many are waiting to see Oscar Isaac back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Moon Knight, one of the directors of the TV show, gives an update.

Moon Knight’s MCU costume is incredibly impressive, with an attention to detail not often matched, closely resembling its comic book counterpart. What this fan art does is simplify the design a bit, while still keeping the spirit of the MCU costume intact, showing how good it already is. The design and art style of the Moon Knight art would actually be beautiful if fully animated.

Our Take On The Disney-fied Moon Knight Art

Superheroes translate well into animated projects due to their comic origins, and Marvel Studios should arguably benefit from leaning into this side of things more going forward. X-Men ‘97 was universally lauded, and the upcoming Marvel 2025 animated TV slate looks promising. While most of the animated projects already released have their own distinct visual style, the Moon Knight art serves as a reminder that the classic Disney style wouldn’t be a terrible idea for a project to use some time in the franchise’s future.

A Blade version of Moon Knight will actually appear in the upcoming animated series, Marvel Zombies.

Although it is already a strong live-action show, a Moon Knight animated series would be incredible. The Disney style look of this Moon Knight art is a nice touch, highlighting the legacy of the past while making us long for something like it in the future. It’s unclear whether another season of Moon Knight will ever come out, and if it doesn’t, hopefully the character will be featured in another project. Until that time, this Moon Knight 2-D art will hold me over while I desperately wait for season 2.
