Versa-Style Street Dance Company Delivers LA Hip Hop Experiences to Boulder | Macky Auditorium Concert Hall

Versa-Style Street Dance Company comes from Los Angeles to deliver three days of experiences to CU Boulder and the Front Range community from February 9 to 11, 2026, open to the public.

Founded in 2005 by LA natives and co-artistic directors Jackie “Miss Funk” Lopez and Leigh “Breeze-Lee” Foaad, Versa-Style Street Dance Company promotes, empower and celebrate the artistry of Hip Hop and street dance culture. Named “Los Angeles’ Best Dance Troupe for Hip Hop Empowerment” by LA Weekly, Versa-Style is recognized for its electrifying performances and inspiring engagement activities for schools and local communities.

  • Community Workshop at Mi Chantli

    This movement experience is brought to the community thanks to partnerships with FoCo Flava and Mi Chantli. This session is free to the public, but limited to up to 40 people. Online registration coming soon here.
  • Panel Discussion with Versa-Style Founders
    Tue Feb 10 | 2:30 – 3:30 pm

    Sponsored by the American Music Research Center and the Entrepreneurship Center for Music, we will discuss the past, present and future of the company, their positive influence on the LA community at large through an entrepreneurial mindset, and what lessons we can gather in the Boulder and Colorado communities in arts education, dance culture and a healthy society.   • Versa-Style Street Dance Company: ROOTED RHYTHMS

    Macky Auditorium Concert Hall
    ROOTED RHYTHMS is Versa-Style’s mixed repertory production, consisting of the company’s most popular works from the last 20 years. This mixed repertory program pays homage to Street Dance styles such as Whacking, Popping and House dance, as well as a blend of Afro-Latin styles such as Salsa and West African, culminating in an evening of dance that is representative of the diverse experiences of the BIPOC communities of Los Angeles.
